Luxe Long Lunch with GT Studio

Join us as we unravel the inspiration behind GT Studio’s styling for the 2024 DISSH Gala. GT Studio curated a colour palette of soft cream, chrome, and ice features to capture the essence of coastal luxury, infusing chic resort elements into the styling and decor for an unforgettable event at the Calile Hotel.

Q: Can you briefly describe your business, your style and the services you provide.

A: Hello! I’m Grace, owner of GT Studio. We are the creators of innovative concepts & spaces. We use trend forecasting with a subtle & considered approach, designing experiential concepts that are custom to each client.

Q: What was your inspiration and vision behind the styling for this shoot?

A: The concept for the DISSH Gala 2024 was to align to the major growth of the DISSH brand — focused on experiential elements that were visually impactful. The brief was to achieve ultimate elevated resort vibes. To do this, we wanted to create something truly custom that had never been seen in this market. We custom designed & built the beautiful curved tables to seat 180 people — 54m worth of table!

Q: Tell us about the colour palette you chose for this shoot. How did these colours capture the essence of elevated resort vibes?

A: The palette we curated included a soft cream, chrome & ice features. We wanted this to call to the coast — being neutral, natural, organic & fresh.

Q: The ambience of resort living often conjures images of outdoor gatherings and vacation allure. How did you integrate these elements into the shoots styling and decor? Could you offer any tips or advice for those seeking to infuse chic resort elements into their own events?

A: We absolutely played off the space when it came to creating that resort vibe. The Calile Hotel is synonymous with ultimate luxury & escapism. The rooftop space was exactly what we needed — the raw concrete & sand coloured flooring called to the coast, with a 360 degree view of the city & the hotel itself. We wanted the space to remain super open which is why we chose to do very minimal rigging to block any of that expanse. In terms of styling, everything came back to our palette — we had super subtle chrome elements along the table centre, bending to mimic & enhance the curvature of the tables.

Q: How did our Hueseeka candles and candle holders you selected help to complete your vision or why did you chose these candles/ products for this shoot?

A: The Hueseeka ivory tapered candles & chrome bases were key to achieving the brief. We used a mixture of the 65cm, 45cm & 35cm tapers to bring drama to an otherwise super subtle tablescape. During golden hour, they almost caught the sunlight & reflected such a warmth — they were absolutely key to elevating the tablescape as a whole.

Q: What were the key elements of this shoot?

A: We leaned into concepting & creating impactful moments that intertwined as a whole to deliver on the brief. The curved tables were designed & custom built as a feature sculpture, we custom designed an oyster bar constructed entirely of ice, & we put the spotlight on the DISSH brand’s campaign imagery through a custom wall projection & LED DJ booth.
